Let’s make a Song & Dance about Royal Wedding

Has YOUR personal invitation to Prince Harry and Meghan’s nuptials been lost in the post?

No matter.   Local befriending charity Brixham Does Care can offer you THREE golden opportunities to celebrate the upcoming Royal Wedding.   On Monday 14th May the Brixham Does Care Film Club is screening “Royal Wedding”, starring Fred Astaire and Jane Powell as a brother and sister dance act booked to perform in England at the time of Princess Elizabeth’s wedding to Prince Philip.   Tickets are £6, including refreshments. (Members £5).   Doors open 1.00pm.

On Friday 18th May you are invited to enjoy cucumber sandwiches, cake and tea/coffee at a Royal Wedding Celebration from 12.30 to 3.00pm.   Entertainment comes courtesy of local duo Southern Comfort and tickets are £7 per person.

On Monday 21st May comes Martyn & Josephine’s Marvellous May Song & Dance Party from 1.45 until 3.45pm.   Tickets are £4 and include a piece of Josephine’s delicious cake and a cup of tea/coffee.   Doors open 1.15pm.

All three events take place in the Brixham Does Care Café, situated in the Town Hall, and all tickets are available from the BDC Office next door.  Details 857727.   The official dress code at these “do’s” is Smart Casual.   However, ermine or tiaras would be permitted and the waving of Union Flags at every opportunity is encouraged.  Those who regularly attend the Song & Dance Parties are reminded to bring their own air guitars, as usual.  These popular instruments are now very reasonably priced at your local stockists, together with others ranging from air pianos, to air saxophones and air drum-kits.  Feel free to bring yours and show off your musical prowess..

Hopefully, at least one of the above events will help overcome the disappointment of not receiving your invitation in time.  Given the saving on your accommodation and travel costs to Windsor, perhaps you might now be able to attend all three!   See you there.
