Super troupers light up 12th Memories variety show

THE 12th ANNUAL fundraising variety show, “Memories Are Made Of This“, took place at the Berry Head Hotel in front of another packed audience.   The magnificent sum of £920.50 was raised on behalf of befriending charity Brixham Does Care – the highest amount for 8 years!   The success of this show is not measured just in numbers or pounds sterling.   It was wonderful to see talented members of the community, young and old, amateur and professional, joined on the dance floor by  an enthusiastic audience, who were willing them to succeed.  In true show business tradition, when human and technical glitches occurred, everyone carried on regardless, as if saying: “The show must go on!”  The dancing by the Totnes School of Dance was truly exquisite.  Male vocalist Harrison delivered smooth Sinatra classics.  Songstress Tina Shiraz got us all dancing, and guitarist Rick Courtney had us reaching for our air guitars. Comedian Vic Baulton tickled our funny bones.   Compere Martyn Paddon added some classic favourites.   Finally, Furzeham Performing Arts Group lit up the show as they delivered songs from Mary Poppins, making their families and teachers extremely proud.   A HUGE Thank You is owed to everyone concerned, not least the audience who show their continued support.
