After Sixties it’s a Jubilee Singalong

Brixham Does Care to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee LIVE and online.

SONGS from THE SIXTIES  were sung at the latest BRIXHAM DOES CARE online Singalong [See picture below].  Those originally recorded by Sam Cooke, Danny Williams, Elvis Presley, Bobby Vee, Cliff Richard, Bobby Darin, The Animals, The Beatles, The Righteous Brothers, The Spencer Davis Group, Procol Harum, Engelbert Humperdinck, Otis Redding, The Hollies and The Archies tested our vocal chords to the limits.   Flower decorated bags, hats, headbands, scarves and waistcoats were on show, together with colourful shirts, tops, wraps, beads, beach boy baseball caps, a white fedora and a wonderful Heinkel bubble car.   The community charity plans to celebrate the 70 years reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by holding a Platinum Jubilee fish and chips lunch, followed by a Singalong comprising songs representing the soundtrack of the record breaking time spent on the throne. Tea, coffee and cake will be served in the interval, plus a raffle. This event takes place on Monday 30th May 2022 at 12.15pm in the Brixham Town Hall Function Room.  Details from the BDC Office next door, 01803 857727.

The next scheduled online Singalong is on FRIDAY 10th June  2022 at 2pm. The theme will be “PLATINUM JUBILEE”   The dress code can be ANYTHING YOU LIKE. Expect to see loads of Union Flags, red, white and blue bunting…and a crown or two! Of course, fancy dress is not obligatory.   It just adds to the fun.   Taking part is the most important thing.   If you would like details of how to join a Zoom Meeting, contact Martyn Paddon via email: or by phone on 01803 851438
