Brixham Does Care is a registered befriending charity founded in 1978, which attempts to combat loneliness, isolation and despair. We offer support to people of all ages and client groups in communities.

Emma - Director
My name is Emma and I have been at Brixham Does Care for several years. Although originally employed as a carer support worker providing support, information, home visits, coffee mornings and trips out for carers in the TQ5 area, I have now been promoted to the Direcyor. Although still involved as a carer’s support worker, I am now responsible for the overall coordination and management of Brixham Does Care services and activities whilst ensuring our aims and objectives are met.
As a member of the management team I help contribute towards the formulation of Brixham Does Care policy, strategy and planning and communicate with staff implementing management decisions.
I am also the link person Men’s group, Art group and Bingo
James - BDC Manager
James joined us in October 2016 - he is the manager for BDC, including Volunteers and the link person for several groups including scrabble, art and lunch club.
Jane - Well Being Coordinator
Jane is a Wellbeing Coordinator, based here at BDC, but employed through a project called Ageing Well Torbay involving us and Age UK Torbay. Her role is to support people that are over 50 years old that have become isolated within the community for whatever reason. Through regular visits and support she should help people to re-engage with the community and increase people's wellbeing.

Marcia is a Community Worker - Accounts Clerk. She has worked at BDC since August 2018
Martyn Paddon - Chairman
Martyn is not only our chairman but also much involved in many of our activities and events not least of which are his various entertainment sessions
Maya - Community Worker
Maya joined us in February 2017 as a part time Community Worker - she will be the link person for several groups once she has settled in
Sue - Community Worker
Sue is a Community Worker - Visiting Team. She has worked at BDC since April 2019
Teresa - Community Worker
Teresa joined us at the end of October 2019 - she will be helping people complete Attendance Allowance forms, Blue Badge forms, Pension Credit forms etc, and will be the link person for the knitting groups and Ladies group.
