Brixham Does Care is a registered befriending charity which attempts to combat isolation and loneliness. Our charity was founded in 1978 and offers support to individuals of all ages living in Brixham and surrounding areas.<\/span><\/p>\n

The staff and volunteers at Brixham Does Care work together to provide support to our local community. We have over 50 volunteers who regularly give their time to support Brixham Does Care in all its activities and we genuinely value their hard work and thank them for all they do.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our Aims<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Brixham Does Care aims to relieve social isolation and improve quality of life by inspiring people to be involved as valued members of the community. It aims to raise awareness and support peoples wellbeing and help them overcome their challenges by providing befriending support in the home and community. We provide a safe and friendly environment to encourage independence and social interaction and reassure all vulnerable individuals.<\/span><\/p>\n

At Brixham Does Care, we provide support, information, signposting and a visiting team. We offer a variety of assistance including but not exclusive of: Entitled To Form, Attendance Allowance, Blue Badge Forms, PIP, Pension Credit and other advice. We also offer a wide variety of community activities, groups and excursions. A community caf\u00e9 is available to build friendships and provide affordable refreshments.<\/span><\/p>\n

We aim to work closely with other organisations and act as a facilitator to ensure that the needs of our local individuals are met. Our committed team aims to encourage health and wellbeing to all individuals using our services and we aim to provide the relative raining to support them in this.<\/span><\/p>\n

We aim to make available to all individuals:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A community room and meeting room for companionship, A caf\u00e9 offering low cost refreshments and light bites, Befriending support,\u00a0A confidential listening ear, Information and Signposting, Minibus outings, Lunch club, and Volunteer opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n

We aim to organise the following group activities:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Art Group, Handicrafts Group, Bingo, Ladies Group, Olde Buoys Club, Knit and Natter, Bridge Group, Colour & Chat, Film Club, Knit Together, and Lunch club.<\/span><\/div>\n
